The Good news about the DMV

“All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us.” – (Galatians 3:10-13)

The DMV does not care what car you buy- they have guidelines and codes regulating simply you may get a license. Lets say you buy a Prius, in addition to getting run over by other cars the choice you made will not be able to go against the snow or rough roads. If say you bought a BMW si convertible- That is a very nice car but maintenance will be constantly expensive as BMW makes it so. A Toyota Camry is also a fine choice, but it is not built much for speed, power or comfort- you have to really push the motor to go uphill. To anyone shopping for cars knows already, there is no such thing as a perfect car. No matter which car you buy it will always suck up gas, it will only last awhile, you will have some kind of accident, and your always going to have maintenance issues along with various issues. By the time you go buy a new car, your going to cuss out the last car you used to love, only to repeat the process again and again. By knowledge, experience, and online reviews we will always try to find the best possible car. Yet each of us must first get a license in order to drive. No matter which car we buy the DMV will not take away our license, so long as we maintain our good stance with them.

The parable I present to you is this. Jesus gives you license for salvation. No matter what you do, you are free to choose what to do with it after that salvation. This world being imperfect, no matter what we do after salvation we will only choose one form of imperfection from another. How we as Christians curb this is by walking in faith for god to guide our hearts. As we go from Car to Car we go from Chapter to Chapter in our life. This is why anyone who is a sinner is no exception from salvation or forfeiting that salvation. If he chooses to walk with god and earnestly seeks his guidance, god will lead his heart as God sees fit. We maintain our faith through study worship and prayer. Keeping hold to our father and savior each and every day. This is the message of the entire New Testament. The good news (gospel) is not condemnation, it is Salvation! That we are lead by the spirit for the law will be written into our hearts. As Christians we must never forget this.
Think about Questions
1. How often do you worry about other peoples car buying options?
2. How do you direct other people in how to keep their drivers license in good standing?
3. How does these first 2 questions relate to Christianity?
